First Narrows Investment Management (FNIM) is a company that buys and sells financial products such as stocks and bonds. FNIM uses a combination of statistics and machine learning to create models that drive its trading strategies. These days, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) models are often black boxes, and there is very little in the way of human interpretation. In contrast, FNIM is part of the explainable AI movement. FNIM methodology is data-driven but FNIM takes time to understand the decision process behind our trading models.

About the project
FNIM is an emerging company looking to enhance its online presence. They have previously designed a logo that doesn’t quite convey the desired sense of professionalism and stability. Based in Vancouver, BC, the company has a soft spot for the Lion’s Gate Bridge—a local landmark that extends across the First Narrow and offers breathtaking views of the Burrard Inlet. FNIM aims for a logo with a contemporary feel that reflects its modern approach to finance while retaining its distinctive Vancouver roots.
The client’s request for the website was to create a design that exudes sobriety, and professionalism, and provides informative content.
